Rajpura Town and Rajpura City in Rajpura Tehsil District Patiala of Punjab State, India, It is located 26 KM towards East from District Head Quarter Patiala. It is a Tehsil Head Quarter. Rajpura is regarded as "Gateway Of Punjab" as all road and rail transport needs to touch Rajpura for the routes going to other major cities of Punjab. Rajpura junction is the first Railway Junction in Punjab while coming from Delhi side. Rajpura is a small industrial town in District Patiala. It is as a place has been linked as an important town in the Indian history from the times of the "SURI's" Emperor Sher Shah Suri was the founder of the Suri dynasty. His name when translated means "The Lion King" . Rajpura is the largest Tehsil in the State of Punjab comprising approximately 252 villages. The entire city of Rajpura can be divided into 3 segments. First part in the Rajpura Township which expended after Indian Independence. This area is inhabited mostly by people who mygrated from Bahawalpur, Pakistan. These people worked their way arduously into making a name of themselves in the city of Rajpura. Hence they control more businesses in Rajpura. The Second segment is old Rajpura and the Third Segment is the Focal Point. The total population as per census 2011 was 92183.

All the citizens are requested to co-operate Municipal Council, Rajpura to make the city clean and green. We have placed green and blue colour dustbins on different places in the city. Green dustbin is for wet garbage and blue dustbin is for dry garbage. Please use these type of dustbins. Do not throw the garbage on roads, grounds and parks. Punjab Government has banned to use the plastic polethins carry bags and disposable things. So do not use these type of plastic polethins carry bags and disposable things. So our city keep clean and green forever. I hope all the citizens of RAJPURA will co-operate us.
